Yep, it really does work! I've had it for over a year now and don't regret the purchase. Works like a champ. The only time I use a little bleach is if towels have been left sitting wet and they get mildewed (happens when kids leave stuff sitting behind doors or in closets--LOL!). Otherwise, no soap. We love it!

This seems so crazy no laundry soap. So you ladies are for real that you truly love this machine and it is worth the purchase?

I am skeptical and wonder if you truly use this no soap way of washing clothes with good results?

Wonder why Rebecca has not had a good experience?

Any tips or cautions to share with other considering this machine?

Thanks

Definitely give it a try! I love ours. And, yes, I do leave the front-loader open to dry out after a day's laundry is done. Seems to do the trick!

I've had a brand new unit in the box in my garage for over a year. My dad was a distributer and gave it to me. After reading your post though I think I'll try it. I've been really skeptical about the no detergent thing.

You still have to leave your front loading washer open after your loads to dry out?

That's really unfortunate, Rebecca! One important thing to do that will probably help a HUGE amount is to leave the lid of your washing machine open after each load so it can thoroughly dry out. The bad smell on your clothes is actually created by the washing machine--not by the Laundry Pure. If the machine is not allowed to completely dry out, it will get a mildewy smell over time and leave that on your clothes. Our washer of 13 years recently died on us, so we replaced it with an energy efficient front-loader. I thought my clothes smelled okay from the old washer, but I was stunned by how much cleaner they smell from the new one! So I got online and Googled around until I found the tip about leaving the door open after each load to let the machine dry and air out. Wish I'd known that with the old machine!

Detergent actually just adds perfume over the natural smell of your clothing. If it smells bad, detergent is just masking the smell rather than getting what caused the odors to come out. If you have a machine you don't intend to replace any time soon, run two medium empty loads with a half gallon of bleach in each. That will kill the mildew in the machine. Then run two empty loads with no bleach to get all the bleach out of the machine. Finally, let the lid stand open for a full 24 hours to let the machine dry completely. That should remedy your bad smell problem!

I have had a unit for three years and still wonder why. My towels get a bad smell a few days after being washed. I have several pieces of clothing that stains never came out of. I had the story of never needing detergent and all. After three months I just had to in order to get the laundry clean. And the distributor and their downline that I purchased it from are no longer with the company. So much for local support.
